Top Blackjack Bonuses for December 2024

Playing online blackjack for real money unlocks endless opportunities for bonuses and promotions. By using free credit alongside your bankroll to make bets, you increase your chances of winning real cash. The most common blackjack bonuses online casinos offer include:

Welcome/Sign-Up

When signing up to any of our recommended blackjack casinos you'll receive a bonus to help kick off your experience.

Match Bonus

If you deposit $40 to start playing blackjack online, the casino will match your deposit with $40 of bonus money.

Reload Bonus

Targeted at existing players, casinos will add to your funds with a specified percentage of the total you deposit.

No Deposit Bonus

Casinos award players an amount of bonus money after signing up, without having to deposit any real money beforehand.

VIP Bonus

Created for the high rollers, VIP bonuses can be anything from enhanced cash bonuses, invitations to exclusive events, or access to high stakes blackjack tables.

Ongoing/Weekly Promotions

While most blackjack casinos will offer seasonal promotions, the best will also offer weekly giveaways and deals to their existing players.

Some unique bonuses don't directly result in money to your account. Some online blackjack gambling sites offer a seat at high stake tables, or special promotions for live dealer blackjack games, including site bet insurance for additions like the 21+3 bet.

As with all casino bonus schemes, remember to check the wagering requirements. It's common for online casinos to enforce wagering requirements of x20 to x40, so depending on the bonus amount, you may have to wager over $1,000 to withdraw any bonus money.

Best Blackjack Games to Play for Real Money Online

Online casinos offer over 100 variations of blackjack — more than you’ll ever find in a brick-and-mortar casino.

When playing for real money, it’s essential bettors learn the differences between blackjack game types. Online casinos are banking on you to forget to check.

Each variation follows similar blackjack rules and objectives, with only slight differences. Incorporate these variations in your blackjack gameplay though, and it will make a huge difference to your chances of winning real money.

Our guide to the 10 most popular blackjack games covers everything you need to know. Along with variations, we highlight the blackjack games that give you the best odds of winning cash.

1. European Blackjack

This game is the closest variant to American Blackjack available online. The dealer uses 2-8 decks and reshuffles after each round. In European Blackjack, the payouts are 3:2 and players can double down on totals of 9-11.

However, the dealer is only dealt one card face up and draws only after the players have completed their hand. If the dealer is dealt an ace, players can still double down or split before the dealer is dealt a second card. This could make a blackjack and end the game.

This makes this variant less appealing to players, as the format favors the dealer.

2. Atlantic City Blackjack

Harking back to the Roaring ‘20s of US speakeasies, Atlantic City is one of the simplest blackjack games to learn. Eight decks are used, and the dealer stands on 17. Atlantic City is a hole card game, meaning the dealer can check for blackjack if they hold an ace or 10 in their hand.

Players can split aces and double down as often as they like, regardless of what cards they hold. Late surrender is also allowed. Atlantic City has one of the lowest house edges out of any blackjack variation, making it a popular choice with players.

3. Live Dealer Blackjack

Live dealer blackjack is rapidly growing in popularity as more players gamble online. In this variation, an online casino live streams a dealer at a blackjack table, with players joining remotely to place bets at the table. Live dealer blackjack is the closest thing to enjoying the excitement of Vegas from your home.

Live dealer blackjack uses 4-8 decks, and the dealer only shuffles the shoe after the cut card has been revealed. The cut card usually appears 2/3rds of the way through the shoe. This reduces the number of deck reshuffles, meaning the house edge is slightly lower in this blackjack game.

4. American Blackjack

American blackjack is very similar to European blackjack but differs in the side bets. The shoe contains six or eight decks of cards, which the dealer shuffles after each round. The dealer must draw on 16 and stand on 17. Both player’s cards are dealt face-up, whereas the dealer has one card dealt face-up, the other face-down.

Those rules may be slightly detrimental to players, but American blackjack makes up for this with its side bet rules. Players can double down on any hand, even on splits. Late surrenders are allowed, giving players greater flexibility in their betting strategy than other blackjack games.

5. Las Vegas Strip Blackjack

As the name hints, this version is popular on the Las Vegas Strip. This is one of the most exciting types of blackjack, offering players many opportunities to maximize their winnings.

In this game, the dealer checks for blackjack if they’re dealt a face-up ace or 10. Players can double down on any cards and split any cards up to three times. However, aces can only be split once. It's also possible for players to double down after splitting in this format.

6. Blackjack Switch

There’s only one feature that sets this blackjack game apart from the rest; it’s also what makes this variant so much fun. In blackjack switch, bettors get two hands they play concurrently. Players have the option to switch the top two cards in their hands to improve their chances of winning.

Of course, a feature this good means there’s a trade-off. If the dealer is dealt a 22, it becomes a push against non-busted hands, and blackjack pays even money.

This blackjack variant also has its own special side bet: Super Match. With this wager, the player wins if the first four cards they’re dealt contain a pair, two pairs, or three of a kind. The payouts are 1:1, 5:1, 8:1, and 40:1, respectively.

7. Las Vegas Downtown Blackjack

Downtown and Vegas Strip blackjack games can be easily confused, but there are two key differences. Vegas Strip blackjack uses more decks of cards, and the dealer must stand on a soft 17.

To beginner players, these game variations may appear subtle. Advanced players though know these small changes can have a huge impact on their blackjack strategy. More decks make card counting harder in Vegas Strip blackjack, for instance.

8. Infinite Blackjack

This live dealer variation of the classic blackjack game offers a fun twist. In this version the dealer lays two cards on the table; that is the hand for all players. Individually, players can decide if they want to hit, stand, double, split, or take insurance. They can also make up to four side bets per round in infinite blackjack: 21+3, Six Card Charlie, perfect pairs, bust it, hot 3, and more.

After all bets have been made, the dealer will play their hand and finish all bets. An infinite number of players can join this blackjack game, making it one of the most social blackjack games players can join online.

9. Multi-Hand Blackjack

This variant is very similar to traditional blackjack, with the main difference being players can bet up to five hands simultaneously. Multi-hand blackjack may offer more thrills, but it comes with extra volatility. This is not a blackjack game for limited bankrolls.

Some players assert wagering on multiple hands increases their potential profits, giving themselves a better chance of beating the dealer. With that logic, the opposite is equally true. Online multi-hand blackjack games run on random number generator software, meaning tricks like card counting don’t work. Instead, we recommend using tools like strategy cards to make smarter bets in this game.

10. Pontoon

In Pontoon, the dealer is dealt two face-down cards and cannot look at either until the end of the round. There are also some terminology differences; players can twist, stick, or buy instead of hit, stand or double down.

A bettor must twist if their hand totals 14 or less. They can optionally twist after a double down and be paid 2:1 with a five-card hand of 21 or less, often referred to as a 5 Card Trick. In the event of a tie, Pontoon favors the dealer, and the player will not be paid.

Playing real money blackjack online is the best way to match the thrill of sitting at a table in your favorite casino. In many ways, online blackjack offers bettors so much more, from being able to play multiple formats at the click of a button, to the addition of bonuses and promotions.

The variety of online blackjack games and blackjack bonuses have another benefit. By choosing blackjack variants with a low house edge, and using bonuses to stretch your bankroll, you can tip the game’s odds in your favor. When finding real money blackjack games that give us the best odds of winning, we look for:

  • Blackjack games with the fewest decks
  • Live blackjack tables that do not shuffle the cards after every round
  • Online blackjack games with lenient side bet rules
  • Casino sites that give 3:2 payouts on blackjack
  • Live dealer blackjack games that record table history

Find these tips and more in our guide to winning at blackjack online. Our top 10 tips cover the essential strategies and techniques players should know to improve their chances of winning money in blackjack.

Improve your Blackjack Bets

Playing well will only get you so far in real money blackjack games. To win big in blackjack, you need to bet smartly, too.

Our tips will help you increase your odds of winning blackjack and avoid common errors players make. Together with our blackjack strategies, we’ll help you beat the dealer more often.

  1. Avoid progressive betting strategies. These strategies are rife in roulette but have no place in blackjack. Basing your wagers solely on how much you won or lost in previous rounds is a losing plan.
  2. Learn a simple card-counting system. You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know how to count cards in blackjack. Even beginners can find simple card-counting tricks online. Card-counting systems can reveal the proportion of high/low-value cards in the shoe, which will help you make smarter bets in your blackjack game.
  3. Be choosy when making side bets. Online casinos offer numerous side bets in blackjack, and for good reason. The house edge is higher on these wagers, and they’re less likely to land. Our guide to side bets tells you when to make these wagers so you can have the upper hand on the dealer.
  4. Find blackjack games with lenient rules. A little research goes a long way. Find games that pay 3:2 over 6:5 for blackjack, use few decks, and where the dealer must stand on a soft 17. Check out our guide to the top 10 blackjack games for more information.
  5. Choose your blackjack games wisely. Find blackjack variations with the lowest house edge, and live dealer tables that match your betting limits. This will help stretch your bankroll and give you more opportunities to win money in blackjack.

Live Dealer Blackjack

There are loads of blackjack games online, but none offer a more immersive experience than live dealer blackjack. With a real dealer and bettors playing the game in real-time at a table, live dealer blackjack offers the most authentic gambling experience online.

Our players love live dealer blackjack because of its reassurance. Seeing the cards shuffled and dealt by a real dealer gives them confidence that winning the game is solely down to their skill. Unlike random number generated-powered (RNG) blackjack games, players can use strategies like card counting in live blackjack to improve their chances of winning real money.
