2020 Super Bowl Betting: Ravens, Niners, Chiefs Up — Pats, Saints, Seahawks Down

After key victories in Week 14, the betting odds for 2020 Super Bowl improved for the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, Super Bowl betting odds for losing teams such as the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks all decreased.

The Baltimore Ravens emerged as the betting favorite at 5/2 odds to win the 2020 Super Bowl when they ended New England’s undefeated season one month ago. Since then, Lamar Jackson emerged as the favorite to win the Most Valuable Player, while the Ravens rattled off nine consecutive wins.

The San Francisco Niners jumped to 4/1 after they won the Game of the Year against the New Orleans Saints during a 94-point shootout at the Superdome last Sunday.

The Kansas Chiefs have actually been flying under the radar the last few weeks while Patrick Mahomes’ injuries heal up. The Chiefs are now 8/1 odds to win the Super Bowl.

2020 Super Bowl Odds Upswing
Baltimore Ravens 5/2
San Francisco Niners 4/1
Kansas City Chiefs 8/1

2020 Super Bowl Odds Downswing
New England Patriots 5/1
New Orleans Saints 6/1
Seattle Seahawks 10/1

The Patriots dropped from 7/2 to 5/1 after they suffered their first home loss of the season. Bill Belichick and the Pats suffered their third overall loss when the Chiefs went into Foxboro and blitzed the heck out of Tom Brady.

The Saints also saw their 2020 Super Bowl betting numbers dip. Their odds went from 4/1 to 8/1 after losing to Jimmy G and the Niners.

The LA Rams finally have their offense humming, and they ambushed the Seahawks on Sunday. The Seahawks, who were previously unbeaten on the road, went from 8/1 odds to 10/1 to win the Super Bowl.

Ravens (Still) Soaring

Could the Ravens run the table and finish the season with 12 consecutive wins? Possibly.

They face the lowly New York Jets this Thursday. In Week 16, Jackson and the Ravens face AFC North foes, the Cleveland Browns. The Duck Devlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers await the Ravens in the final week of the season.

The Ravens haven’t lost a game since Week 4 when Baker Mayfield and the Browns went to Baltimore and picked off the Ravens, 40-25. At that point, the Ravens lost two games in a row and saw their record dip to 2-2. Since those back-to-back losses, the Ravens won nine in a row, with victories against the Seahawks, Patriots, Texans, and Niners.

The Ravens odds are anywhere from 5/2 to 2/1 in Las Vegas, and at some offshore books.

Niners Legit

Everyone (including this scribe) believed the Niners were overrated because of their soft schedule in the first half of the season. Indeed, the Niners faced easy opponents and whooped them.

They had a three-game stretch that included games against the Packers, Ravens, and Saints. Haters assumed the Niners would drop three straight and come crashing back to Earth. Instead, the Niners took two out of three games, with a three-point loss against the Ravens during a bad-weather game in Baltimore in Week 13.

Love them or hate them, the Niners, they passed their second-half test with flying colors when they walked away with a victory after beating the Saints in New Orleans during a 94-point explosion. Oddsmakers adjusted the Niners’ betting odds to 4/1 to win the 2020 Super Bowl.

Who Dat? and the Titans

The Saints host a home game against the Colts in Week 15. Then, they face two opponents on the road with games against the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers.

The Titans won six out of their last seven games with Ryan Tannehill replacing Marcus Mariota as the starting quarterback. Tannenhill’s revamped Titans are currently on the AFC playoff bubble, with a shot at securing the AFC South crown. The Texans and Titans play each other twice in the last three games of the season. However, the Saints/Titans game might actually alter the outcome of the AFC South.

If the Titans can pick off the Saints in Week 16, then they’ll prove to the betting world that they’re a legit playoff contender, and worthy of a spot in the postseason.
