The New York Jets missed their best chance to secure a victory in the first half of the season after a dismal performance on Thursday Night Football against the previously winless Denver Broncos. The LOL Jets could not even beat a team starting a third-string, rookie quarterback, who threw three interceptions including a Pick-6 on TNF. The Jets continued their winless ways and started the season 0-4.
The Jets suck, but we all knew that already. If you have been tailing our picks this season, fading the Jets (aka betting against them) this season is now 4-0 because the Jets are 0-4 ATS.
It’s so bad right now for Gang Green, that the LOL Jets should fire both Gase and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
As a life-long, suffering Jets fan, it’s really hard to find a lower moment in the franchise’s history.
The Jets came into Week 4 with a little hope and optimism. We had a chance to secure a first win of the season against a western team flying to New Jersey on a short week and starting a third-string rookie at QB. And even if the Jets lost, the word on the street strongly suggested that Gase would lose his job. The extra couple days would provide the new coach additional time to get acclimated to his new gig.
The win never materialized and the Jets blew a fourth quarter lead.
After the game, fans got word that the Jets would retain Gase’s services. Yes, CEO Chris Johnson will not fire Gase like we had all hoped. The sh-tshow called the LOL Jets continues.

Sympathy for the Darnold
You have to feel bad for Jets QB Sam Darnold. Jets fans root for him every week, but it was good to see several well-known athletes watch TNF and cheer him on via social media.
Both Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James gave Darnold props on Twitter after his early touchdown run.
Gase’s playbook is either too complicated, or his plays do not work. Whenever Darnold connects on a touchdown, it’s usually because a play breaks down and he must scramble out of the pocket.

In the first quarter on Thursday Night, the Broncos were in hot pursuit of Darnold. Without any open receivers to throw to, Darnold tucked the ball and ran. He scampered 42 yards into the end zone to put the Jets ahead 6-0.

The LA Lakers were in between Game 1 and Game 2 in the NBA Finals, but we all found out how LeBron spent his Thursday evening — watching the LOL Jets on TNF with the rest of us.

TNF: Good, Bad, and Lots of Ugly
Let’s be positive for a quick, shiny and happy moment. Sam Ficken, the Jets kicker, is the Jets MVP this season. Ficken came into TNF with a perfect 3-for-3 in field goal attempts. On Thursday evening, Ficken continued his league-leading 100% accuracy with five more field goals. Ficken is now 8-for-8 on the season and gets early accolades as the Jets’ offensive MVP.
The Jets were penalized 11 times for 118 yards. They also were flagged for six personal fouls. The Zebras missed several other cheap shots that should’ve been whistled.
Williams developed a bad reputation due to the Bounty Gate scandal when he coached at the New Orleans Saints. On Thursday Night, Williams reverted back to his dirty tricks. The Jets went after Brett Rypien multiple times. It’s one thing to blitz a rookie QB, it’s definitely a classless tactic to try to injure the kid.
Vic Fangio refused to shake hands with Gase and the Jets after the TNF game because the Jets played dirty. He directed the Broncos to avoid the Jets and retreat to the locker room.
“There was just a couple of personal fouls there at the end and our sideline was getting ticked off about it,” said Fangio. “I just wanted to avoid any confrontation at the end of the game and having it get ugly there.”
The Broncos had a rough trip to East Rutherford, New Jersey that included a dangerous newly-installed turf at MetLife Stadium. Players on both teams went down with injuries that could have been crappy-rug related.
Rookie Jerry Jeudy made a play of the night that is already making the rounds as a meme. Jeudy snatched an under-thrown ball out of the hands of Jets’ cornerback Pierre Desir.

Fade the Jets: 4-0
We are betting against those LOL Jets every week this season. If I have to endure a horrendous season then I might as well profit off of this weekly humiliation.
We fired away at the Broncos -2.5 on Sunday evening shortly after the Jets were thumped by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. We backed the Broncos before word got out that the Broncos would start rookie quarterback Brett Rypien.
By game time on Thursday, the betting line had moved to a pick’em. Even with a crappy line on the Broncos, we still covered the spread in Week 4. In 2020, we’re 4-0 fading the Jets.
With Gase sticking around indefinitely, we will continue to fade the Jets until they finally fire him.

The Cardinals are currently 2-1, but should be 3-1 after defeating the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The Jets will be home dogs once again heading into Week 5, probably by a touchdown or higher. The Jets could get spotted two touchdowns against the Arizona and we’d still back the Cards.
