One gambler learned a hard lesson when he plunked down $78,451 at FanDuel on a two-team parley in College Football Week 6 betting and both squads were upset. The first game was No. 4 Florida against No. 21 Texas A&M. The Gators were -230 on the moneyline, but got beaten by the Aggies, 41-38.
The Gators have allowed 100 points in their first three games this season. That is the most points allowed by the Gators in any three-game span since 1917 when the team was outscored 175-7 over their final three games of the year, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
Florida head coach Dan Mullen criticized his defense to reporters after the game.
“We’re going to have re-evaluate a lot of things defensively,†Mullen said.
The second game was Pittsburgh-Boston College. The Panthers were -265 on the moneyline. They scored a touchdown late in overtime, and needed to convert the PAT to force a second overtime. The kicker pushed it wide right, and they were the second upset victim of the day.

Florida and Pitt weren’t the only AP Top 25 teams that got beaten on Saturday. Defending national champions No. 17 LSU lost to unranked Missouri, while No. 22 Texas fell to Oklahoma in four overtimes.
LSU was a 14.5-point favorite, and William Hill reported that 84 percent of the tickets on the game were on LSU, as well as 79 percent of the money. BetOnline said that 67 percent of the money was on LSU.
The Tigers had a chance to win the game, but could not punch it in from the 1-yard line. LSU had four chances and failed.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron blasted his defense.
“We couldn’t stop anybody. Really a poor showing on defense,” Orgeron said. “We have to coach better, No. 1. It starts with me. Players have to make plays. We couldn’t stop the run, receivers wide open down the field. It was embarrassing.”
Dumb bet of the Week
A gambler at William Hill wagered $240,000 on BYU on the moneyline against University of Texas at San Antonio. The No. 15 Cougars were 34.5-point favorites, and -7000 on the moneyline.
The customer bit on the moneyline, and put the six-figure wager on BYU. The pay out was $3,428.55.
He had a bit of a sweat as USTA kept it close, finally falling 27-20.
Bad Beat of the Week
The first half over/under in the Miami Clemson game was 30.5 points, and with three seconds to go in the second quarter Clemson lined up for a 61-yard field goal. Coach Dabo Sweeney decided to roll the dice to get an extra three points, and increase their lead to 24-3.

Miami’s DJ Ivey picked it up the blocked field goal and ran 48 yards for a touchdown, making the scored, 21-10, ruining those holding the under by a half-point.

According to Bet Labs, Alabama is the fifth AP Top-5 team since 1936 to allow 45 points versus an unranked opponent and still win. Ole Miss and Alabama combined for 111 points. That is the most in a regulation game between SEC teams in conference history.
