Bayern Munich showed no mercy to newly-promoted Bochum, beating them 7-0 on home soil. Robert Lewandowski scored just one goal this time, but it was enough to push his record streak further.
The Polish super striker netted for the 13th time in a row in a Bundesliga match played at home by Bayern — a performance that’s unmatched in the history of the German league. The previous record of 12 belonged to Bundesliga legends Gerd Muller and Jupp Heynckes.
Bayern had six different names on the scoresheet vs Bochum, with Joshua Kimmich being the only one to get a brace. Bayern scored an impressive 10 goals in the two games they played this week after also beating Barcelona 3-0 at Camp Nou on Tuesday.
Since the slow start against Gladbach in a game that finished 1-1, Bayern won on their last seven official outings. In none of those matches did Bayern score less than three goals. Bundesliga bottom-of-the-table club Greuther Furth is next on Bayern’s list of opponents, on Friday.

The last time Lewandowski played and didn’t score for Bayern was in February in the 1-0 victory over Mexican club Tigres in the final of the Club World Cup. The 33-year-old netted in his previous 19 official games in the Bayern shirt. In the Bundesliga, he has 15 consecutive games with at least a goal scored, being one match and goal shy of the current record, which belongs to Gerd Muller from the 1969/70 season. Since the beginning of the campaign, Lewy netted 11 times over seven outings.
And it’s not just Lewandowski who’s challenging the record books. New Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann has seen his team score 20 goals in just five Bundesliga games. He equaled the record for a new coach at a club.
Bayern were German champions in the previous nine seasons and have gone to the top of the table following their undisputed triumph over Bochum. Bayern is at -625 to retain its crown for the 10th year in a row, with Dortmund second in the bookies’ views at +500. Leipzig and Wolfsburg are way behind at +3300.
Lewandowski is the top goal-scorer in the Bundesliga with seven goals, the same as Erling Haaland. After breaking the record for most goals ever scored during a single season in May, Lewandowski is the favorite to win another German Golden Boot. He is now at -357, while Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland sits at +190.
