NBA win totals for next season have been released by various sportsbooks and Greek Freak and the Milwaukee Bucks are expected to win the most games with an over/under at 55.5 win total. The Utah Jazz, Philadelphia Sixers, and LA Lakers with Anthony Davis are also among the top projected teams in the NBA next season.
The Toronto Raptors are also rather high up, but this hinges on the future for Kawhi Leonard. It looks like there are three teams in the running for his services including both teams in Los Angeles and the defending champs Toronto Raptors.
2020 NBA Win Totals
55.5 Milwaukee Bucks
54.5 LA Lakers
53.5 Utah Jazz
52.5 Philly Sixers
52.5 Toronto Raptors
The Milwaukee Bucks won the most games in the NBA last season with a 60-22 record. However, the Freak and Bucks lost to the Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Raptors won the second-most games in the East last season.
Philly Love
Even without Jimmy Butler, the oddsmakers like the Sixers to win somewhere around 53 game. The Sixers were one bounce away from winning the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Raptors. However, Kawhi hit a magical shot that got a kind bounce and the Raptors knocked out the Sixers to stay alive in the playoffs and the rest is history.
The Sixers signed Tobias Harris to multi-year deal. They still have their core duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. The Sixers added Josh Richardson in a multi-team sign-and-trade for Jimmy Butler with the Miami Heat.
The Sixers let Butler go, but hope they can make a deep run without him even though Butler was the only consistent starter in the postseason.
Utah Reboot
Do not sleep on the Utah Jazz. They won 50 games last year with a squad in flux and a young Donovan Mitchell riding through the ups and downs of a sophomore season in the NBA.
The Jazz added veteran All-Star point guard Mike Conley through a trade with the Grizzlies. They also added free agent sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovich to slide into the three hole. In the last couple days, they added Emmanuel Mudiay and Jeff Green to min-veteran contracts.
A backcourt with Conley and Mitchell can rival the dynamic duo in Portland with the Blazers’ CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard. As the cool kids say, the Northwest is going to be lit next year.
La-La Land
Lakers fans are loyal to a fault and will back the purple and gold to eternity. That blind loyalty made bookies turn a nice profit over sucker bets on the LA Lakers to win the 2019 NBA Championship.
As soon as LeBron James signed with the Lakers last summer, fans flocked to sportsbooks and bookies to get down as much as they could on the Lakers winning the title. The joke was on them because the Lakers didn’t even make the playoffs.
Even before the Lakers added Anthony Davis to the roster, fans were beating their heroes heavily in NBA futures. Again, loyal fans backed their team while sharper players wanted to lock in a better number before the Lakers landed AD. When AD got traded to the Lakers in a huge mega-haul, the Lakers’ futures dropped to 3/1 odds.
In the win totals department, the Lakers are the second-highest on the board at 54.5 wins. The Lakers have LeBron, AD, and Kyle Kuzma along with a couple draft picks. They cleared room to try to lure Kawhi Leonard to Hollywood. All signs point to Kawhi with the Clippers.
