Can Cam Do It? Panthers New (Old) QB Provides Intriguing DFS Option

Last week brought great value at the running back position in DFS. Week 11 would appear to feature nice value at the wide receiver position. And by cheating a little, and going over our usual $5,000 budget, we find a familiar face that could provide a high DFS score at the quarterback position.

Here are five players under $5,000(ish) on DraftKings this week.

Cam Newton, Panthers QB ($5,100)

So I’m going to fudge a little and go a bit over $5,000 since Cam is such an intriguing option this week. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said Wednesday that Newton is “trending toward” being the starting quarterback this week after his success in a supporting role last week. The situation bears watching, but Newton could bring some excellent value for the price if he starts, with his rushing upside.

Zack Moss, Bills RB ($5,000)

Week 11 certainly doesn’t bring us the value options we had at the running back position last week; choices that paid off handsomely. Moss is the closest value play that fits the bill. While he’s in a timeshare situation with Devin Singletary and (to a lesser degree) Matt Breida, Moss gets the bulk of the goal-line work, giving him touchdown upside.

Elijah Moore, Jets WR ($4,900)

While New York’s quarterback situation remains in flux, all of the gunslingers seem to like Moore as a target, as the rookie receiver has caught three touchdown passes from three different QBs over the past two games. Over the past three games, Moore has 16 receptions for 195 yards and those three TDs on 20 targets.

Rashod Bateman, Ravens WR ($4,500)

Another rookie pass-catcher who’s coming into his own, Bateman has caught 11 passes for 132 yards on 16 targets in the past two contests. Injured for much of the season, Bateman has quickly ascended to the top of the receiver food chain for Lamar Jackson’s pass attempts.

Dan Arnold, Jaguars TE ($4,100)

Arnold continues to rarely disappoint. Since becoming the tight end flavor of the week in Week 8 for DFS players, he keeps putting up numbers: his past three scores on DraftKings are 14.8, 10, and 13.7. Despite his steady play, he remains a cheap option at the tight end position.
