Four teams have provided bettors with a profitable venture against the spread this season. The top betting teams in the NFL with the best ATS records are the Green Bay Packers (10-2), Dallas Cowboys (9-3), Arizona Cardinals (9-3), and the New England Patriots (9-4).

All four of these best ATS teams are also NFL division leaders. The Patriots hold down first place in the AFC East, the Packers lead the NFC North, the Cowboys top the lackluster NFC East, and the Cardinals are the best team in the tough NFC West.

NFL TOP BETTING TEAMS ATS
ATS S/U
Green Bay Packers 10-2 9-3
Dallas Cowboys 9-3 8-4
Arizona Cardinals 9-3 10-2
New England Patriots 9-4 9-4

If you’re looking for a nifty surprise, check out this stat: Detroit Lions (1-10-1) won only one game this season, but consistently beat the spread this season with a 8-4 ATS clip.

On the flip side, the New York Jets are the worst-betting team in the NFL this season. We love to fade the LOL Jets, who are 3-9 straight up and 3-9 ATS this season.

Packers 10-2 ATS

The Green Bay Packers have an easy matchup in Week 14. The Chicago Bears and their anemic offense visit the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field for a tough NFC North divisional throwdown. Even with a fractured pinky toe, Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t have much of a challenge this week. The Packers are -12.5 favorites against the Bears and have to cover by nearly two touchdowns if they expect to keep the best ATS record in the NFL.

The Packers hit the road to play the banged-up Baltimore Ravens next week. The Ravens recently lost Marlon Humphrey, their top defender, to a torn pec injury. The Packers square off against the Cleveland Browns on Christmas day, before the Minnesota Vikings come to Lambeau in Week 17. The final game of the season will be against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in the Big D.

Cowboys 9-3 ATS

The Dallas Cowboys won six games in a row before they stumbled in November with a 1-3 record. Both Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliot are dinged up, but nothing too major. At least, that’s what they’re reporting on the weekly injury list. Jerry Jones is a shafty fella and could be covering up any serious to his top two offensive weapons.

The Cowboys got back on track last week with a ten-point road victory against the New Orleans Saints. The Cowboys have one tough matchup remaining against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, plus four NFC East divisional games. They face the Washington Football Team twice in the next three weeks. WFT is a +4.5 home dog against the Cowboys on Sunday.

Cardinals 9-3 ATS

The Arizona Cardinals survived a stretch without quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Both returned from injuries that kept them out of the lineup for most of November.

The Cardinals have a big test when they host the LA Rams on Monday Night Football. The Rams are +2.5 underdogs, but seeking revenge from a 37-20 thrashing in Week 4 back in LA.

The Cardinals have two more home games against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16 and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18. They hit the road for away games against the Detroit Lions in Week 15 and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. The Cowboys/Cardinals game in the penultimate week of the season could be a potential playoff matchup.

Patriots 9-4 ATS

The red-hot New England Patriots won seven games in a row after a tumultuous 2-4 start, and saw their ATS record improve to 9-4 on the season. The Patriots won a decisive divisional battle against the Bills in Buffalo during a windy Monday Night Football game. People will be talking about that Bills/Patriots MNF game for the next century when Bill Belichick ran the ball up the Bills’ collective throats while attempting just three pass plays in a pass-happy modern NFL. The Patriots saw their Super Bowl 56 odds bump to +700 after that crazy win.

The Patriots have a late bye in Week 14, with only four more games to end the season in which Belichick is the betting favorite to win NFL Coach of the Year. The Bills get a chance to even the score against the Patriots in Week 16 at Foxboro. The Patriots also have remaining road games at the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, and at the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. The Patriots’ final home game will be in Week 17 against Belichick’s pal Urban Meyer and the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars.
