Presidents Cup Prop Bets Heavy on Captain Tiger Woods

Oddsmakers are supplying a plethora of Presidents Cup prop bets for the competition, which begins Thursday (Wednesday in the US) at Royal Melbourne in Australia. Several sportsbooks have lines on everything from the odds of a hole-in-one to whether or not Dustin Johnson will compete on the first day.

There are also a host of Tiger Woods Presidents Cup prop bets, most notably focusing on how much the Captain will play in the event. Woods told reporters his playing time will be a decision that he makes in consultation with assistant captains Fred Couples, Steve Stricker, and Zach Johnson.

The thinking at Sportsbetting.ag is that Woods won’t play the first day of the competition. The yes is -150, while the no is +110. If he does play on Thursday, BetOnline has a Presidents Cup prop bet that he gets booed on the first tee. The no is the favorite at -600, while the yes is +350.

Here’s a look at other Presidents Cup prop bets that bettors can wager on.

Plenty of Woods Prop Bets

In addition to Sportsbetting.ag’s line on whether Woods will play the first day, there are several other Presidents Cup prop bets for gamblers to make on Woods. BetOnline is offering an over/under on how many matches Woods will play. The line is set at 2.5 and the favorite is the over, which is -205. The under is +165.

The most he could play would be five matches, but it is doubtful Woods will play in every possible scenario. Every golfer plays the singles matches on Sunday, so Woods just has to play two of the other four matches to hit the over. Even if he doesn’t play the first day, he will most likely play two of the remaining three.

Two Presidents Cup prop bets to stay away from regarding Woods are scoring the maximum five point, and sinking the winning putt, both offered by Sportsbetting.ag.

It is unlikely that Woods will play all four days, and if he does, it is even less probable that he would win all of his events. The yes on that bet is +2000, while the no is -25000.

The odds of him sinking the winning putt are possible, but again, not probable. The yes is +1200, while the no is -6600.

Prop Bets on Players, Outcome

There are 23 other golfers in the event, and several Presidents Cup prop bets are related to them. One is offered by Ladbrokes on who the top Asian scorer for the International Team will be. There are five Asians competing for Captain Ernie Els, and Hideki Matsuyama is the favorite at 7/5. Sungjae Im is 3/1, Byeong-Hun An 4/1, Haotong Li 6/1, and C.T Pan 11/1.

BetOnline has a line on who won’t compete in Day 3. Woods is the favorite at +250, but Bryson DeChambeau is close behind at +300.

With Patrick Reed being accused of cheating at last week’s Hero World Challenge, Sportsbetting.ag has a prop bet on whether the 2018 Masters Champion will be penalized for cheating. The yes is +2000, while the no is at -25000. The site also put a line down for any player to be caught cheating. The yes is +500, while the no is -10000.

One bet on the final score is being offered by Ladbrokes. There are four scores with 10/1 odds, and all have the US team winning. They are: USA 15.5-14.5, USA 16-14, USA 16.5-13.5, and USA 17-13.
