Prop Bets: Will the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, or LOL Jets Go 0-16?

Will there be an 0-16 team in the NFL this season? Circa Sports Book in Las Vegas posted prop bet odds for an 0-16 scenario involving the winless New York Jets (0-5), New York Giants (0-5), and Atlanta Falcons (0-5).

The Jets, Giants, and Falcons have each started the season 0-5. Only two teams in the history of the NFL went 0-16: the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2016 Cleveland Browns.

The Cira Sports Book in Las Vegas posted a prop bet that the Jets will finish the season 0-16 at 7/1 odds or +700. The Giants and Falcons are 50/1 odds or +5000 to finish the season 0-16

NFL TEAM 0-16 PROP BET

In case you’re wondering, all three teams are at the bottom of the NFL Futures board. The LOL Jets are +75000 on DraftKings, or 750/1 odds, to win the Super Bowl.

The Giants are +50000 or 500/1 odds to win the Super Bowl. The Falcons are +25000 or 250/1 odds to win the championship.

How Many NFL Teams Never Won a Game?

Only five teams in the history of the NFL finished a complete season without a single victory.

In 1960, the Dallas Cowboys went 0-11-1 when the NFL season consisted of just 12 games.

For more than 30 years, the 1976 Tampa Bay Bucs had the dubious distinction as the NFL’s worst team in history. They went 0-14 under legendary USC coach Jon McKay, who struggled to win a game in his first season as an NFL head coach.

NFL TEAMS WITHOUT A WIN

In 2008 the Detroit Lions didn’t win a game, becoming the first NFL team in the modern era to finish a season 0-16. The Detroit Lions secured the #1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and selected Matt Stafford.

In 2017, the Cleveland Browns went 0-16. It took several years before that team turned around their losing ways. They secured Baker Mayfield with the #1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Currently, the Browns are 4-1, and vying with the Pittsburgh Steelers for an AFC North divisional crown.

LOL Jets Stay Winless?

The Jets are the consensus worst team in the NFL, but will they become the sixth team in NFL history to finish the season winless? The Jets are in the middle of a nuclear meltdown and a trainwreck on a sinking ship with a meteor headed straight for it. Whatever disaster cliche you can think of, well, that’s the Jets.

The LOL Jets have been the laughingstock of the NFL ever since the infamous Butt Fumble on Thanksgiving 2012. In the last week, the Jets cut their biggest star, Le’Veon Bell, who got snatched up by the Kansas City Chiefs. He went from being on the worst team in the league to joining the best team.

NY JETS REMAINING SCHEDULE

The Jets have five difficult road games against potential playoff teams ahead of them, including at Kansas City, at Seattle, at LA Rams, and at New England. The Jets have two games in SoCal, but a month apart.

So long as Adam Gase is the head coach, the Jets won’t win a game. As a lifelong, suffering Jets fan, I can attest to the constant heartbreak and disappointment with the team. In true Jets fashion, they’ll do something crazy like upset the Patriots in the last game of the season.

If you’re going to take a flier on the 0-16 Jets prop bet, then you should load up with weekly wagers against Gang Green.

We’ve been fading the LOL Jets every week so long as Gase is the head coach. Thus far, the Jets are 0-5 ATS, and we’re 5-0 betting against them.

Giants Should Win Game in the NFC ‘Least’

The Giants play in the NFC Least, which has become the nickname for the pathetic NFC East. With a division that horrible, the Giants should win a game at some point. Heck, they’re 0-5 and still a favorite in Week 6 against Alex Smith and Washington.

The Giants lost Saquon Barkley for the year, but Devonta Freeman is no slouch. The team seems to actually like playing for Joe Judge, so it’s not a situation like the Jets or Falcons in which the head coach lost the locker room and the Giants are doomed to go 0-16.

NY GIANTS REMAINING SCHEDULE

The Giants have six home games and five road games remaining. The G-men host three divisional foes at MetLife Stadium with a good chance they could secure a victory in any of those spots.

The Giants have only two more divisional road games, but they also have two tough ones at the end of the season when they face Seattle and Baltimore. The Giants also have one non-conference road game at the Cincinnati Bengals that could be a potential W for them.

Winless Falcons Could Be 3-2

The Atlanta Falcons could easily be 3-2 if they finished out games and didn’t suffer serious defensive lapses in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons finally fired Dan Quinn, who was never the same after blowing a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

The Falcons named Raheem Morris as their interim head coach. New blood on the sidelines usually jump-starts a losing squad.

ATLANTA FALCONS REMAINING SCHEDULE

Atlanta hosts five more home games, including non-conference games against the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders.

Atlanta also hits the road for tough away games against the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tampa Bay Bucs.

The Falcons end the season with two games in the last three weeks against Tom Brady and the Bucs.
