Internet sportsbooks usually offer some unusual prop bets that cover anything from what color shirt a golfer might wear to President Donald Trump’s chances of winning a Nobel Peace Prize.
MyBookie has three wagers currently available that are slightly outlandish. OG has taken a look, and offers some advice for bettors willing to gamble on where to find the smart money in these here specialized bets.
Will LeVar Ball Criticize LeBron James Next Season?
This bet is probably the most unpredictable of any of them, giving the nature of the subject. LaVar Ball, the outspoken father of Los Angeles Laker guard Lorenzo Ball, has been known to direct his vitriol towards anyone he believes slights him or his son. So LeBron James might not be out of bounds.
Last season he criticized both Lakers coach Luke Walton and team president Magic Johnson. Ball did condemn people that were defacing a James mural that was painted in Southern California.
Mybookie has Ball taking a verbal swipe at James at yes at +160, and the no at -200. This might be a good bet on Ball opening his mouth and inserting his foot.
Will Carson Wentz Play in Week 1?
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback tore both his ACL and LCL in his knee last December and after surgery has been rehabbing in preparation of playing at some point in the NFL season.
Betmybookie doesn’t think it will be the first week of the season on Sept. 6 at home against the Atlanta Falcon. They have the no of Wentz coming back for the first game at -300 and the yes at +200.
Backup Nick Foles won the Super Bowl and has shown he is more than capable to lead the offense, but Wentz has been making steady progress and was cleared to begin 11 on 11 drills last week, though he still hasn’t been cleared for contact yet.
“The final hurdle, which will not be my decision, will be being cleared for contact,” Wentz told reporters last week. “I feel good. Everything has been going well, all throughout rehab, just been constant progression. I feel really good where I’m at, It’s going to be close.”
Foles suffered a shoulder strain and that gave those looking at the yes hope, but it’s not serious, and he should be the starting signal caller opening week.
Kobe Bryant to Play Big 3 Basketball Next Season
The rumors had been swirling for most of the summer than former Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant was coming out of retirement to play in the Big 3 Basketball League next season.
Betmybookie has the yes at +500, and the no at -800. Why is the no such an overwhelming favorite? Especially after a reporter posted on Twitter that Bryant was planning on playing in the league next year.
It appears that Bryant stepping back on the hardwood was a bit of wishful thinking, and maybe a little bit of marketing by BIG3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz.
In a conference call a week ago he did little to dispel the gossip.
“I did hear from a credible source that Kobe is going to be playing next year,” Kwatinetz said. “That’s something, but it may be nothing.”
Kobe Inc. chief marketing officer Molly Carter refuted the news and told the Associated Press’ Brian Mahoney that Bryant “definitely is not playing next year.”
Bryant seems quite happy retired, and has several business interests. Don’t get sucked into the hype that he misses basketball. It appears he doesn’t.
