FC Dallas and USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi is closing in on a transfer to Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga.
The 18-year-old’s representatives held talks with several clubs, including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. It’s been reported that Pepi agreed to terms with Wolfsburg and is expected to change leagues in January if all of the clubs involved agree on the transfer fee.
Before giving his green light to Wolfsburg, Pepi’s agent spoke to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and other European clubs.

Pepi scored 13 goals at the club level in 2021, also adding three assists to his campaign record. In July, he became the youngest player to ever score a hat trick in the MLS, netting three times in just 23 minutes in Dallas’ 4-0 win over the LA Galaxy.
He proved to be influential for the national team as well, scoring three times and assisting three other goals in the autumn games. Pepi won seven caps in the USMNT shirt this year. The striker played his first games for FC Dallas’ first team in 2019 when he joined on loan from North Texas SC. In the 2020 MLS campaign, he scored his first three goals for Dallas before becoming an established player in 2021.
Wolfsburg is expected to pay $10 million to sign Pepi, making him the most expensive player ever sold by FC Dallas.
